KWRH partners with Midwestern State University to provide hands-on clinical training for students in the traditional BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program. Nursing students are exposed to a wide variety of clinical experiences within the hospital including the medical-surgical, surgery, perioperative and emergency departments. This exposure strengthens the learning base of the nursing students and also helps them gain practical experience and knowledge in the area in which they would like to ultimately work.
MSU also prepares students for careers as radiographers. Upon completion of this program, graduates are eligible for certification by the State of Texas as Medical Radiologic Technologists. Their clinical rotations at KWRH provide them with the technical foundation to competently and safely perform imaging procedures.
